Stacy Petty has been the Director of the RMECC since August 2015, but her involvement in the Council dates back to 2010.  She initially became involved in the Early Childhood field in 1996 when she started volunteering in her children’s preschool classrooms and soon after became a licensed home provider.  From 2000-2013, she taught classes as an adjunct instructor at various community colleges including Colorado Mountain College and was awarded the Adjunct Faculty of the Year award at CMC’s Timberline Campus twice in 2007 & 2011.  She loves supporting teachers, parents and programs as they continue on their quality journey.  She holds a BA in English with a minor in Reading and a Master’s in Education with a focus in Elementary Reading and Literacy.  She looks forward to collaborating with parents, providers and others in the Early Childhood field and other partners as we continue to strive to improve access, quality and affordability in the field.

Stacy enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters and the rest of her extended family, skiing, dogsledding and spending time with friends.

Cindy is the new Administrative Assistant for the RMECC team. She will work closely with staff to support and assist with day-to-day operations of the Council. A Colorado native, her parents hail from El Salvador and Cindy was raised speaking Spanish at home and learning English in school.  She lives in Parachute and has worked the past 4 years in a clinic setting.   She decided she was ready for a new challenge and has been working to get up to speed on all that Council work entails.  We are very excited that she will be working with our Latinx population and providing translation supports too. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids, traveling, camping and watching movies.

Kristin Sparkman is the Early Childhood Specialist for the Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Council (RMECC). Kristin has been in the early childhood field for over 10 years and is excited to be supporting the different Early Childhood programs, coaches and agencies. Over the years, she has worked with children birth to 12 in a variety of settings including preschool, Kindergarten, English as a Second Language (ESL), and school-age. Kristin enjoys skiing, hiking, and camping with her husband, Luke, and her two adorable boys, Liam and Ollie.

Kristin provides technical assistance and  support for programs and coaches in navigating the Colorado Shines system, Professional Development Information System (PDIS), and spending QI dollars available through state funding.
