About the Rocky Mountain
Early Childhood Council
The Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Council includes Eagle, Garfield, Lake, and Pitkin counties. We are continually building strong local partnerships to assure young children and their families have access to high quality health, mental health, early care and learning systems, and family supports. The Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Council (RMECC) is a coalition of community members and agencies working together to create a high quality, comprehensive early childhood system to benefit all young children and families. The RMECC mission is to “promote and support a system of quality, accessibility, and affordability of early childhood for families in the rural resort region.” Presently, the Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Council continues to fulfill its purpose through initiatives that strengthen the early care and education system across the region. We welcome participation in the Council by all individuals interested in strengthening early childhood systems across the region for children and families. The Council meets monthly, with ongoing opportunities to participate in committees aimed at particular initiatives and/or projects. Please contact us to find out how you can be a part of the Council.
